Oral health education
As part of our specialist dental service we are able to offer oral health education appointments to our patients and carers.
One-to-one sessions are available regularly with our oral health educator to all of our patients, and are delivered in an informative, fun and relaxed way.
The oral health educator has an important role within our service to promote good oral hygiene and healthy eating habits, which are vital in helping prevent tooth decay and dental disease.
Tooth decay is the most common oral disease affecting children and young people in England, yet it is largely preventable.
When to use this service
- Do you or someone you care for find it difficult to communicate with those around them?
- Does your/their disability impact on your ability to accept dental care?
- Would they be able to understand and consent to their treatment or would others need to make a decision in their best interest?
- Do you/they require assistance to carry out and maintain oral hygiene?
You may be eligible to be treated by our service. We accept referrals from general dental practitioners and healthcare professionals. Ask about being referred to us for your dental treatment.
