The opening of the new Forest of Dean Community Hospital means the former hospitals, Lydney and Dilke, are vacant and, as planned, will be sold.
Lydney Hospital has been on the market since early April and is being disposed of in sections comprising:
- the main hospital building;
- the land on the corner of Templeway West including the car park and outpatients;
- Grove House; and
- the Stonebury House garden.
The hospital and land on the corner of Templeway West were registered as an Asset of Community Value and the six months for interested parties to develop plans and prepare bids to purchase those sections has concluded. Following marketing, a number of expressions of interest have been received and there will be a period where best and final bids are invited and assessed. This is likely to be in late July.
Two sections of the Lydney site – Grove House and the garden of Stonebury House – have been sold, subject to contract. Stonebury House itself remains occupied by Trust services.
The Dilke Hospital is being marketed for sale, via our agents Alder King. The site is not registered as an asset of community value, so interest is anticipated from a range of parties and bids/offers will all be assessed after any marketing.
If you have any questions about the two sites, please address these either to Philip Pratt at Alder King, PPratt@alderking.com or email ghccomms@ghc.nhs.uk.
