Farm visitors bring a 'Good Day' to Charlton Lane Hospital

Last week, Charlton Lane Hospital in Cheltenham received a special visit from residents of The Good Day Farm in Chipping Campden – a mobile farm which brings its animals to the community.

Chestnut Ward Engagement and Activity Practitioner Helen Babbage-Peart said the visit made a real difference to patients on the ward, saying: “Laura and Izzy arrived with the animals and set up pens on Mulberry ward. All the patients, staff and carers gathered as Sandra, Croissant, Jean Pierre, Patrick, Mike, Dave, Baby, Polly, Grace and Aida were brought onto the ward.

“Patients that wanted to interact took turns to hold or pet the animals. I think it is fair to say that Jean Pierre, the tiny black sheep, was a firm favourite, with his little protective socks.

“Huge thanks to everyone that helped raise funds to enable this event to take place. This was such a wonderfully beneficial interactive afternoon stimulating ALL the senses.

“Many thanks to The Good Day Farm – their visit enabled many patients to recall memories and make new ones.”
